The Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence has a part-time opening for a Sexual Violence Program Specialist. The Sexual Violence Program Specialist will work in conjunction with the Executive Director to fulfill the mission to address sexual violence in Delaware by creating an inclusive community that supports survivors through advocacy, intervention, and awareness. Some of the work activities will include but are not limited to:
• Enhance statewide community awareness on the dynamics of sexual assault/violence in Delaware. Help with the coordination of public awareness events statewide. Respond to technical assistance requests from Delaware victim service provider organizations. Work with the local judicial systems and law enforcement regarding favorable responses to serve victims and survivors of sexual assault. Assist with conducting listening sessions with survivors to identify and address gaps and barriers to services. Directs referrals received by DAASV to appropriate victim service provider organizations.
• Other work activities as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social/behavioral sciences, criminal justice, women studies, gender-based violence, or closely related field. One to two years of work experience working with victims and survivors of violence. Knowledge of community resources for survivors of sexual assault. Survivors of sexual assault are encouraged to apply.
Hybrid work model. The headquarters office is in Wilmington, Delaware. Must be fully vaccinated/boosted to align with DAASV'S COVID-19 vaccination policy for employees, interns, and volunteers.
The Delaware Alliance Against Sexual Violence seeks a Finance and Budget Assistant to assist the Executive Director with budget preparations for grant and foundation applications. The desired candidate has prior experience with non-profit budgets, including federal, state, and local grants. The job will involve the preparation of 4 - 6 budgets for current DAASV funders and new grant opportunities as identified.
The job will also involve weekly preparation of DAASV’s fiscal transactions and documenting expenditures to appropriate grant revenue sources. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is preferred.
The position is contractual at $25.00 per hour. Monthly hours will depend on the work demands for grant budget preparation and revisions. Six hours per month is estimated to prepare DAASV’s fiscal transactions and expenditures, documenting appropriate funding sources for DAASV’s accountant.
Associate’s degree in finance or accounting. Prior experience with non-profit budgets is preferred. Knowledge of how to prepare budgets with accuracy. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other financial software. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Attention to detail is critical.
